i've been looking on this site for some time but never posted.
i'll give a little about myself, but not too much.
i'm a ex-bethelite ( brooklyn )and currently serving as an elder (10 years) (thinking about stepping down) on the service committee.
i'm in contact with service and writing and brochure first step there bleeding publishers they can't take it anymore publishers are depressed because they feel they must shun others and they know it's unloving.

people are protesting against plans to build a large care home for jehovahs witnesses behind their houses.. homeowners living in the bloors lane area of rainham have lodged objections to proposals by the jah jireh charity, which specialises in spiritual and physical care for followers of the religion.. people living in neighbouring homes say it is too big and its three storeys will dwarf their properties.. .
what the care home will look like.
Maybe I'm wrong, but it looks like the residents are standing in front of a fence topped with barbed wire in an area that (at least by what I've seen in the US) looks industrial.
If this photo is representative of their neighborhood, I don't think this will be the worst thing that ever happened there. . . .
return to jehovah... no return address .
today i read a small piece of poetic irony.
im not going to advertise from what web forum i read this, but it was so astounding i had to share it somewhere.
Hmmmm.. . Interesting table of contents.
So here's how the conversation goes:
Elder: So which one of these three -- anxiety, hurt feelings or guilt -- is the reason you left?
Inactive Person: None of them.
Elder: Then you are an apostate. We'll read your name at the next meeting.

Also, was just thinking what's the real motive behind a "Return to Jehovah" brochure or campaign. . .
I wouldn't be surprised if after a one-time "outreach" to those who have left, they don't declare them all DFd or DAd saying, "We really tried to help them. We did the best we could."

That is an interesting statement: "Wouldn't it be cool if we were allowed. . ." I've heard the same sentiment but worded differently throughout my lifetime.
You'd like to walk up to them and say "Do you know why you're not allowed to follow the pleadings of your own conscience? You're in a cult!"
http://jwtalk.net/forums/files/download/498-songs-140-142/.
i don't know if anybody has seen this (or if anybody cares).
but it seems that some of the "new" new songs have been leaked by somebody at bethel.. just a bit of a warning, do not click on that vocal rendition of song 142... it is awful.
Ok. Just listened to the vocal rendition of the "Pioneer Song."
Even if I were still mentally in, I would have thought "This sounds like that horrible christian music shit."
i knew it could happen one day...yet i was so careful..... sitting at the sound cabinet, i had our awesome forum open on my tablet, and didn't see the microphone brother looking over at me...... he wandered over and asked me "whats that site?".
i quickly responded "oh, i googled to get to our jw.org site, and this must have popped up" while quickly closing it.... he didn't look too fussed, but my heart was beating..... he is pretty chilled out and certainly not an "uber-dub"...but this was a wake up call to be more careful...i am fading fast, but don't want anymore attention from the nazi-elders while doing so!.
be careful all!
An great way to avoid getting caught on apostate sites at the meetings. . .. . is stop going to meetings! Works for me!
But in all seriousness, watch out for yourself!
